Hello December, we cannot believe you are here! Our classroom is so nicely decorated and our elf Sparkle Joe as joined our classroom! Sparkle Joe or SJ will be in our classroom daily and will be reporting back to Santa each night when he goes back to the North Pole! We will be making so many fun Christmas crafts and ornaments and the children were wonderful helpers putting up our Christmas tree!

Language Arts- This week we finish Unit 3 of our Wonder’s series. Our essential question is, What places do you go to during the week? We will read, Please Take Me for a Walk. We will learn new sight words- “went” & “saw” and we will focus on the letter Cc, blending sounds to make a word and work on more short a word families. In grammar, we will continue to create correct sentences making sure the first letter is capitalized, finger spaces, and a period.
Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be creating correct sentences and writing word family words.
Math- This week we will complete Chapter 5 – Add to and Take From Within 5 and have our test on Thursday!
Math Centers- We will practice addition and subtraction problems.
Jesus Time- We will continue to learn about the reason for the Christmas season and read the stories leading up to Jesus’s birth. We made Advent wreath pictures and each week we will “light” a candle on our advent wreaths (by coloring it in yellow). and watch videos to reinforce what we read.
Social Studies: We will discuss and watch videos on Christmas and the different ways people celebrate.
Science: This week we will discuss why animals hibernate and migrate.
Song of the week: Joy to the World by Pentatonix.
