I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Leading up to Thanksgiving the children were eager to share the many things they are thankful for. It was wonderful to hear all the things, see them draw them, and especially, hear their different answers daily, even though it was the same question.

Joke of the Week: Why does everyone love Frosty the Snowman?

Language Arts- This week we continue Unit 3 of our Wonder’s series. Our essential question is, What are the different sounds we hear? We will read, Clang! Clang! Beep! Beep! Listen to the City. We will learn a new sight words- “was & up”, focus on the letter Nn, blending sounds to make a word and identifying the end sounds in words. We will also begin word families and our first word families this week will be -at & -an. In grammar, we will continue to create correct sentences making sure the first letter is capitalized, finger spaces, and a period.

Language Arts Centers- This weeks centers will be creating correct sentences and working on word families.

Math- This week we will begin Chapter 6 – Put Together and Take Apart Within 5.

Math Centers- We will practice addition and subtraction problems.

Jesus Time- We will continue to read our Children’s Beginner Bible Stories that they love and watch videos on the stories we read to follow-up on what we read and understand each story a little more and begin to talk about the reason for Christmas!

Science: This week we will work with 1st grade in the STEM lab to construct a hands-on project.

On Friday, the first day of December our class Elf will be making his way into our classroom! The kiddos will be surprised by his appearance and we will give him a name and go over the rules of having an elf in our classroom! 🙂
