I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed the nice weather! We are continuing to add to our learning load each week! πŸ™‚

Joke of the Week: Where do you learn to make ice cream?

Language Arts- We are continuing to learn in our Journeys Language Arts book. Each day we open with identifying sounds, rhyming, and this week begin counting syllables. This week we will review letters Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, and Tt. Our topic for the week is school, why do we have school rules, friends at school, what we can do at school, etc. As we read our stories this week we will focus on understanding characters, authors purpose, and predicting.

Our third and fourth sight words we are learning are β€œlike” and “no”, we will learn how to say them, spell them, and most importantly identify them throughout the stories we read and sentences we make. Last week we were learning that words that name people are nouns and this week we will learn that words that name places are also nouns. We will identify different places and label them as nouns. We will also have our second assessment on Journey’s Lesson 2 on Friday. The children did a wonderful job on their first assessment!

Math- We will wrap up Chapter 1 this week, we are learning to count, write, and represent numbers 0 to 5. The children are enjoying this chapter and we will have our first math test on Wednesday!

Jesus Time- We will continue to read stories from Ms. Vollono’s children Bible, watch videos and complete activities to retell the stories we read.

Scholastic- We will complete our scholastic about fire prevention and protection.

Looking forward to another great week!
