I hope everyone had a great weekend! How are we halfway through October already?!!

Joke of the week: Why did the lumberjack break his tools?

Language Arts- This week we will finish Unit 1 of our Wonder’s series. We will be opening our lessons by listening and identifying beginning sounds, counting words in a sentence, reviewing the sight words we have learned (I, can, it, the, we) and learn one new one, “see”. We will continue discussing syllables and rhyming. We have reviewed all the letters in the alphabet so we will now turn our focus to sounds that letters make, specifically the beginning sounds in words. We will continue to learn about nouns, we have learned nouns for people and places and this week we will learn about nouns pertaining to animals.

Our essential question is: How can your senses help you learn? We will read the story Sense at the Seashore! and “A Feast of the Senses”. As we read our stories this week we will focus on characters, setting, and what senses are being used and how they help us in our every day lives.

Math- This week we will continue Lesson 3- Matching and Counting Numbers to 5.

Jesus Time- This week we will continue to enjoy Ms. Vollono’s children’s Bible learning about Abraham and all the children God gave to him. We will read stories and watch videos to connect what we read!

Science: This week we will be going to the STEM Lab with first grade to dive into learning about our 5 senses!
