Math Grade 6

 

We are working on module 9. This week we will focus on exponents and using the order of operations, PEMDAS. There are not any quizzes or tests this week.

Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:45.

 

Math Grade 7

This week we are continuing with Unit 4. This unit explores geometry.  We have explored circumference and area of circles and how to calculate the area of rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids.  There will be a quiz on these topics on Tuesday, 3/7/17.  Later in the week we will focus on finding the area of irregular figures.

Pre-Algebra

This week we are beginning our unit on 2D Geometry. This unit will cover translations, reflections, rotations, dilations, symmetry, and scale factors.  Graph paper is needed for this unit.

Algebra

We are continuing with Chapter 8. This chapter explores multiplying and factoring polynomials and binomials.  Multiplying using FOIL will be covered.  We have focused on factoring different polynomials.  Factoring by grouping has also  been explored.   The test for this chapter is on Wednesday, 3/8/17.  Review packets will go home on Monday.
