Math 6

This week the students are learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide positive and negative numbers.  We will be modeling this new skill using number lines and in application problems.  Over the Spring Break, students will be given a review packet.  It is due the day we return from vacation.

 

There are not any tests or quizzes this week, due to the Terra Nova testing.  Extra help will still be on Wednesday morning at 7:45.

 

Math 7

This week we are working on our Statistics Unit.  We will be creating box and whisker plots.  Over the vacation, students are to finish their box and whisker plot projects.  More information about this will be given to the students in class this week.

 

There is a quiz on Wednesday, 4/20 on creating and interpreting box and whisker plots.  Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:45

 

Algebra

This week we are learning the Pythagorean Theorem as well as how to simplify perfect and non-perfect radical expressions.  Over the spring break, students will be receiving a practice regents exam.  It is due the day we return from vacation.

 

There are not any tests or quizzes due to Terra Nova testing.

 

Science 8 (Physical Science)

This week we are starting Chapter 6. We will focus on gravity its affect on falling objects.  Air resistance, orbiting, and projectile motion will be discussed.  Newton’s Laws of Motion will also be explored.
