Flowers of Gifts

 

 April showers bring May flowers! We present to you our flowers filled with the gifts we are blessed with and how we can use those gifts to bless others. We are blooming with our God given talents!!!

 

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– We are continuing Module 6 by taking apart rectangles and relating the rows and columns to repeated addition sentences. The students will also use grid paper to construct designs and learn more about the meaning of even and odd numbers.

Reading- We will be reading Stanley Flat Again! this week as the students anxiously await the arrival of their Flat Stanley’s. During this story the students will be strengthening their predictions skills and learning new vocabulary words. The test for this story will be next week.

LA- We will be starting a new Unit on adjectives this week. The students will learn about adjectives that describe things and tell how many. They will also learn when to use the articles “a” and “an”.

Science- We will be learning about heating and cooling and reviewing the properties of matter. The students will have a science test next week.

SS– This week we are learning about our state capitals and how to use a compass rose.

Reminders  

Please send back the permission slip for the Whaling Museum Field trip. The trip will be on Thursday, May 15th.

Thursday will be a half-day for Parent Teacher Conferences. The spring conferences are only necessary if you have specific concerns about your child. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

The students will be coming home with a Non-fiction book report for May. They were able to choose any topic that interested them. This report will be due back on Wednesday, May 28th.
