Last week the students handed in their Black History Month reports. This week they will be presenting their reports to each other and learning a lot about influential African Americans and their impact on our society.

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– This week we will be adding and subtracting multiples of 100 within 1,000. Students will also learn how to use the associative property to make a hundred in one addend and to subtract from three-digit numbers. 

Reading- We will be reading the Magic Tree House book, Civil War on Sunday.  The students will learn about Clara Barton’s brave actions to help the soldiers.

LA- We will be learning about using an encyclopedia and about suffixes.

Science- We will begin Chapter 7 on Dinosaurs.  

SS– We will be reviewing everything we learned in Unit 4 on Economics and taking a test on Friday.

Religion- The story of “Josiah the Boy Who was King” will remind us to always trust in the Lord.

This week is Read Across America week. Ask your children what they have been doing in class for it!
