Last Friday, the children got to wear lots of crazy socks in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. We hope that Trinity has helped to raise awareness through this fun and unique event. image (1) image (2)

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– During the past few weeks, we have covered the material for Module 5 and I have assessed the students on what they need to know with three-digit addition and subtraction. In order to cover all of the modules and curriculum to the fullest potential by the end of the school year, we will begin Module 6 this week. Module 6 lays the conceptual foundation for multiplication and division in Grade 3 and for the idea that numbers other than 1, 10, and 100 can serve as units.

Reading- We will be reading the The Wednesday Surprise from our reading textbook this week. We will be working on predictions and summarizing.

LA- We will continue to learn about pronouns (we, us, I and me).

Science- This week the students will begin Chapter 8 on matter.

The students will be tested on information from Chapter 7 (Fossils/Dinosaurs) next week when they take a combined science/reading test on next week’s story Fossils Tell of Long Ago.

SS– We will begin Unit 5 on Government. This week the students will be learning about the Constitution and how government leaders are chosen.

Religion- The story of “God’s People Return Home” will help us learn how to heal broken hearts and ask for forgiveness when we have done something wrong.
