Welcome back from Winter Break! Before the break we enjoyed some Valentine’s Day related activities. To help review two-digit addition and subtraction, the students spent time at a math center separating their sums into two piles.
Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!
Math– This week we will begin Module 5. In this module, students will build upon their mastery of renaming place value units and extend their work with conceptual understanding of the addition and subtraction algorithms to numbers within 1,000.
Reading- We will be finishing our Magic Tree House book on Abraham Lincoln and begin the Magic Tree House book, Civil War on Sunday.
LA- We will be learning how to write contractions with the word not and how to use apostrophes appropriately.
Science- We will be learning about the water cycle and reviewing Chapter 6 on weather.
SS– We will be learning about producers and consumers.
Religion- The story of “Josiah the Boy Who was King” will remind us to always trust in the Lord.
