Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– We are learning different strategies to add three or four numbers at a time. We will then move on to two-digit subtraction with and without regrouping. Students will practice solving word problems.  

Reading- This week we are reading Revolutionary War on Wednesday from the Magic Tree House series. Be sure to ask your children what they know about the Revolutionary War!  

LA- We will begin a new unit by discussing the verb “be” and helping verbs.

Science- We will be discussing ways to help protect the Earth and completing a recycling. We will take a science test after we complete chapter 6 since 5 and 6 review concepts the students have previously learned in Social Studies. 

SS– We are beginning a new Unit on Economics. This week the students are learning the difference between needs and wants.

Religion- The story of “Elijah and the Widow” will help us explore how to put our trust in God.

       Permission slips and money for Winter afterschool activities are now due

       Scholastic orders are due this Thursday, January 30th
