A big thank you to Mackenzie and Brianna’s mothers for coming in for our fall celebration last Friday. Another thank you to David and Wayne’s moms for sending in treats!! The kids really enjoyed their snacks and making their felt pumpkins.
Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!
Math– We will be taking a test on measurement (Module 2) on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will begin Module 3, which will involve exploring place value. The students will count and compare numbers to 1,000.
Reading- We will be reading the story Best Friend’s Club from our reading textbook. We will be focusing on making inferences, problem solution, and making a diagram. The students will take a test on Friday on this story.
Science- We will be learning about how plants and animals help each other survive. We will also be combining math and science to compare animal lengths.
Social Studies- We will begin a new unit on History. In the beginning of this unit the students will compare life long ago to life today.
Religion- We will be reading more about Gideon and his efforts to lead God’s people. We will also be practicing our Moses skit to present in Chapel on Wednesday.
Tests
Math- Module 2 (Tuesday)
Reading- Best Friends Club (Friday)
Spelling- are, ore, or, ear words (Friday)
Reminders
This Wednesday the 2nd grade will be leading Chapel. Please feel free to join us at 8:40 if you are free!
Next Monday there will be no school in observance of Veteran’s Day.
