Last week we had a lot of fun making sailor hats to wear while we read Herbie Sails into Second Grade. We also enjoyed making Moses puppets to remind us that God is with us at all times, even when we are scared.

Here’s a look at what we will be learning this week!

Math– We will be diving into Module 2 on measurement. The students will be using centimeter cubes to measure items in the classroom. They will learn how to use a centimeter ruler and how to estimate.

Reading- We will take a test on Herbie Sails into Second Grade on Tuesday. On Wednesday we will begin reading Herbie’s Slippers. We will continue to use context clues to learn new vocabulary words.

Science- We will be learning about more animal adaptations this week. We will focus on how fish and reptiles adapt to their environment.

Social Studies- We will be learning about landforms and how to read a landform map.

Religion- We will be reading the story “God Gives the People Food and Water” and “The Ten Commandments”. We will be discussing how God provides for our physical and emotional needs.
