Hello everyone! I hope your weekend was well spent. We have entered June! This week is a normal week for tests, please be sure to check their green folders. This week we have field day this Friday! Students are split into teams and get to compete in fun games! Their teams have been sent home, please dress according to your team color! It is a great time, the kids love participating and cheering each other on! Any questions or concerns please let me know.
Spelling – 3x each is due this Wednesday and spelling test is on Friday. This weeks spelling words are: strike, spray, split, splash, scrape, three, know, write, your, heard
Math – This week we will review measurement. Our math test on measurement will be this Tuesday! Then we will start our last module, telling time!!
ELA – Reading test will be on Thursday. This weeks story is “Lissy’s Friends”. This story is on page 363 and our question this week is “What traditions do you know about?”. This week we are learning three letter blends and going over adding all our inflectional endings with our rules. Rules such as doubling the last letter, dropping the i and adding y, or dropping the e then add /ing/. Our HF words this week are: before, front, heard, push, tomorrow, your. Our vocabulary words are: difficult – not easy and nobody – no person.
Writing – We are writing in our journals this week about comprehension questions that go along with our story. We will also be doing a writing craft for June! We will write about what we are excited for in second grade.
Social Studies/Science – In our scholastic we will be learning about dolphins. We also continue to record the days of our grass growing! The grass has sprouted and is starting to grow nicely!
Religion – We will read about the stories of “The Birth of Jon” and “Jesus is Born”
