Hello everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your Mother’s Day yesterday. This week we have our Spring Concert on Tuesday night! Students must be in their classrooms no later than 7:00. A parent must accompany them to this and stay the whole show. Please check their green folders for any important information as the year is coming to an end quickly.
Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test is on Friday. This weeks words are: haul, cause, saw, paw, claw, dawn, moon, soup, love, friend
Math – This week we will be wrapping up and reviewing fractions. First grade skims over the topic so they are exposed to it before second grade. Module 16 test will be this Friday!
ELA – Reading test is on Thursday. This weeks story is “Meet Rosalina” and our essential question is “Who helps you?”. This story is on page 302, please read this every night with your child. We will be learning in phonics /au/ and /aw. We will be reviewing all of our vowel teams and how to identify them. We will also be learning about antonyms. This weeks HF words are: brother, father, friend, love, mother, picture. This weeks vocabulary words are: accepted – to take and often – doing something a lot of times.
Writing – We are wrapping up our stories. Students this week will be practicing reading their story out loud. I am sure the kids have come home and told you all about the stories they wrote. I will be sending 2 notices home about our Author Celebration. This will be next Wednesday the 21st at 9:30! Participating for the kids stories will boost their confidence and love for writing! Please RSVP through Dojo and who will be joining!
Social Studies/Science – Last week we learning all about baby gators and other animals that hatch through eggs. For the next couple weeks we will be focusing on our STEM project “Planting Grass!”. Be on the look out for pictures on Dojo where the kids will make their own Grass book to write predictions and observations about their own grass planting.
Religion – This week we will be finishing up book 4 and moving onto book 5.
