Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Always continue to check their green folders for any important information. 

 

Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test is on Friday. This weeks spelling words are: cow, how, town, mouse, mouth, out, born, roar, nothing, early

 

Math – This week we will finish our last lesson in module 13. Tuesday we will be doing a review packet that are similar questions to the test. The numbers and word problems will be different but they will be able to practice the wording of the questions. Our math test will be on Wednesday (4/9).

 

ELA – This week we are reading “Whistle for Willie”. This story is about a boy who learns how to whistle for the first time. It is about perseverance and trying new things. Please make sure they are reading this every night. We read it in class together and students volunteer to read aloud on their own.

 

This week we are starting to learn dipthongs and our first one is /ou/ and /ow/. We will be learning about ending “er” and “est” to adjectives. We will also learn about suffixes this week. We will focus on -ly and -less mainly.

 

Our vocabulary words this week are suddenly – happening quickly and scrambled – make ones way quickly or awkwardly. Our HF words this week are: color, early, instead, nothing, oh, thought

 

Writing – We will doing a writing craft about why we like spring. We will do this with a brainstorm map, sentence drafts and then a final copy. This is great practice for when we start to write our stories soon!

 

Social Studies/ Science – We have learned about tigers grassland and this week we will be reading about Earth Day!

 

Religion – We will learn about Easter and how Jesus rose from the dead!
