Hi everyone! Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Please continue to check green and orange folders. We are entering the month of April! March went by so fast in my opinion and this is when the end of the year begins to really fly by. I have seen so much progress with the whole class and its a joy to see it all happen.
Spelling – 3x each is due on Wednesday and our spelling test is on Friday. Our spelling words this week are: born, corn, core, more, roar, soar, her, dirt, learn, sure
Math – This week we are starting our next module on adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers.
ELA – This weeks story is called “Thomas Edison, Inventor”. I am looking through my inventory of books to see if I have enough for the kids to have a second set. This would help because they would be able to keep their book at home and still have a class book for our lessons! I will update on this.
Reading test is on Thursday and we are working on our last bossy r /or/ and /oar/. We will be learning about abbreviations and more prefixes. Our vocabulary words are idea – an idea could be a written plan to do something, unusual – not common. This weeks HF words are: began, better, guess, learn, right, sure
Writing – This week the students will be in their journals. I forgot to add examples of our work from last week so here they are! The students have gotten a lot better with answering in complete sentences. This is a great skill for them to have that will follow them throughout life.
Social Studies – We are continuing our lap book. We are going to add vocabulary words.
Religion – We are learning story ” Josiah the Boy who was King”
