I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you are having a peaceful start to the season of Advent. We have lots to cover in the next few weeks, so here are the updates.

6th Religion

On Monday, we will learn about Samson and how he served God, despite making a few bad decisions along the way. Then, we will review for the test on Unit 2, which will be on Monday, December 9th. There is no memory verse this week.

6th Social Studies

In social studies, we will be studying the ancient cultures and religions of India and the Indus River Valley. We will learn about the very first civilizations, and then the origins and beliefs of Hinduism and Buddhism.

7th Religion

This week we will study the importance of the Reformation and the work of Martin Luther and his cohort, Philip Melanchthon. We will also look at how Peter, John, and Lydia served God in the New Testament. Then, we will begin reviewing for the test on Unit 2, which will be on Monday, December 9th. There is no memory verse this week.

7th Social Studies

This week the students will be working on research projects on prominent African Americans of the Revolutionary War Era and how they contributed to the American cause. They will present their projects on Friday.

8th Religion

On Monday, we will begin reviewing for the test on Unit 2, which is on Friday, December 6th.

8th Social Studies

This week the students will work on research projects on African American inventors and entrepreneurs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They will present their projects on Friday.
