Welcome back to a new week. Here are the updates for this week.

6th Social Studies
In social studies, we will conclude our unit on Mesopotamia. We will study the Phoenicians (the people of modern day Lebanon) and the history of the Jewish people, which will overlap with religion class. The test on Mesopotamia will be on Thursday, October 26th.
7th Religion
This week the students will learn about the Six Chief Parts of Christian Doctrine (our basic beliefs) and God’s Law. We will use the Bible stories 12 year old Jesus in the Temple and the story of the rich young man to explore these topics. The memory quiz this week is on Wednesday. The verse is Mark 10:27.
7th Social Studies
This week the students will be working on research projects relating to colonial life in America, such as Pocahontas, the Salem “witch” trials, the lost colony of Roanoke, and the lives of Africans at Jamestown. They will present in class on Thursday.
8th Religion
On Tuesday, the students will be presenting their Tough Times Toolkit projects. They have the option to make Google Slides or a poster. They must have their project complete and ready to present first thing in the morning. Because we have a short week, their memory quiz is on Thursday. The verse is Romans 8:28. The lesson we will focus on this week is God calling Moses to deliver His people from slavery in Egypt.
8th Social Studies
On Monday, we will complete the unit on Reconstruction. The test will be on Tuesday, October 24th. We will review in class beginning Tuesday the 17th.
