Welcome back to a new week! The updates are very short this week since we are off for Thanksgiving on Thursday and Friday.

6th Religion

This week we are finishing up the lesson about God providing water for His people at Meribah as they were wandering in the wilderness on the way to the Promised Land. Then, we will do a Thanksgiving activity to close out the week. There is no memory verse this week.

6th Social Studies

In social studies this week we will focus on Ancient Egyptian culture. The students will learn more about mummification as they complete their apple mummies this week, and then they will learn how to write in hieroglyphics.

7th Religion

In religion we will be focusing on how the Holy Spirit creates and sustains our faith in God. The biblical illustration we will use is Peter acknowledging Jesus as the Messiah for the first time. There is no memory verse this week.

7th Social Studies

This week we will study the taxes that the British Parliament levied on the colonists, and how the colonists exercised their right to protest those taxes. We will also do some work with primary source documents to reinforce the content. After Thanksgiving, we will learn about the official start of the American Revolution.

8th Religion

On Friday, the students took notes about the Tabernacle where the Israelites worshiped and offered sacrifices while they were traveling to the Promised Land. This week we will study how those items still relate to us as modern day Christians. There is no memory verse this week.

8th Social Studies

The test on Topic 10 is on Tuesday, November 16th. The students started their review packet last week so they should be studying at home over the next few days.
