Hello, everyone! After a short week last week, we have a full week ahead of us. so here are the updates.

6th Religion

After several weeks of studying the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt, we will finally study how they entered the Promised Land! We will read about how the people built a monument to honor God when they crossed over the Jordan River, and then the Battle of Jericho. The memory verse for this week is Proverbs 16:3.

6th Social Studies

In social studies this week, we will learn about the cultural achievements of Ancient Egypt, and then their neighbor to the south, Kush (modern day Sudan). On Wednesday we will begin reviewing Topic 3, and the test will be on Tuesday, November 26th.

7th Religion

This week in religion, we are going to study lessons that can be learned from the lives of important Biblical and historical figures, such as David, Samuel, Solomon, and Martin Luther. We will especially focus on how the Holy Spirit worked in each of their lives and called them to serve God. The memory verse for this week is 2 Chronicles 20:15.

7th Social Studies

On Monday, we will be finishing up Topic 3 and learning how the U.S. won its independence from Britain. Then we will review for the test, which will be on Tuesday, November 26th.

8th Religion

In religion this week, we will be studying Moses’ last days and words of advice to the Israelites before his death. Then, we will study the Israelites entering the Promised land under Joshua’s leadership. The focus of these lessons is how God’s plans might seem unlikely to succeed, but we must trust in His plans. The memory verse this week isĀ  Psalm 46:1, 7.

8th Social Studies

In social studies this week, we will wrap up Topic 10 by studying some of the major inventions of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that brought the U.S. in to the modern age. Then, we will begin reviewing for the test, which will be on Tuesday, November 26th.
