Greetings to one and all, and a sincere thank you to all of the veterans of the U.S. military. Thank you for your bravery and service. On a different note, you may have seen that Trinity has been nominated for the Best of Long Island award! Please take a moment and vote for us in the Private School category, as well as Nursery School. Also, I look forward to seeing each of you next Thursday for parent teacher conferences. Here are the updates for this week.

6th Religion

In sixth grade religion, the students will be learning about what life was like for the Israelites after they left Egypt, as well as their worship practices. We will especially talk about how our modern day churches still reflect the design of the tabernacle.

6th Social Studies

In social studies this week, the students are working on their group research projects. They enthusiastically began those on Friday, and I am very much looking forward to the students presenting their final products.

7th Social Studies

Seventh grade will also be working on research projects this week. The topics will relate to those we covered in our study of life in the colonies, but we will dive deeper into the various topics.

8th Social Studies

Eighth grade will begin Topic 10 and will learn about how the nation modernized and the economy shifted after the Civil War. In this chapter, we will actually get into the 20th century! We will start with learning about life in the west- mining, railroads, ranching, and farming. On Friday, the students will do an assignment on the African American cowboys who moved west.

8th Religion

Due to the short week, and the LuHi test, we will only cover one topic, but it is a powerful one. We will study what happened with the Israelites while Moses was receiving the Ten Commandments from God, and the consequences of their actions.
