Hello, everyone, and welcome back to a new week at Trinity. Here are the updates for this week.

6th Social Studies

On Monday, the students will be presenting their projects on characters from Greek and Roman mythology. Some of the students said they even plan to dress up for their presentation! We are all looking forward to seeing the projects. On Tuesday, we will begin Topic 7: The Roman Republic. We will study the rise of Rome and then learn about the structure of the government.

6th religion

In religion, the students will be reviewing what they have learned about Holy Communion with Pastor Hopkins. Their test will be on Friday, April 1st.

7th Social Studies

This week the students will be starting Topic 6: The Age of Jackson and Westward Expansion. Last week they researched several of the important figures of the Jacksonian Era to decide if each was a hero or villain of history, and it will be interesting to see of their opinions shift as we study the unit. This week we will focus primarily on the administrations of Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams.

8th Social Studies

Last week we finished World War I, so this week we will begin Topic 13: Prosperity and Depression. This unit will cover the Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression. We will talk about how the 1920s were a result of World War I, and how the Great Depression leads to, and ends because of, World War II. This week we will focus mainly on the 1920s, and the Depression will be next week.

8th Religion

First and foremost, the students should be working on their church design project, which is due on Friday, April 1st. In the meantime, we will continue learning about the kings of Judah and Israel, specifically Ahaz and Hezekiah. We will focus on the importance of prayer and repentance. The memory verse for this week is Psalm 50:15.
