We have just a week and a half left before Easter Break, so we have much to accomplish to this week. Here are the updates.

6th Religion

This week the students will finish up the last activity of Unit 3, creating a storyboard of the events from the story of Naboth’s Vineyard, which could also be renamed Ahab and Jezebel’s Downfall. Then, the students will begin reviewing for their test on Unit 3, which will be on Tuesday, March 30th. The review will be posted on Thursday. There is no memory quiz this week.

6th Social Studies

On Tuesday, the students will take their test on Chapter 9, The Greek World. You may view the study guide here. Then, the students will begin research projects on the long term impact of scientific and mathematic discoveries from Ancient Greece. They will work in groups, and each group will present to the class next week.

7th Social Studies

This week the students will be studying the administrations of Presidents Washington, Adams, and Jefferson. We will especially focus on the precedents created by these early leaders.

8th Social Studies

In eighth grade social studies, we will be studying the Jazz Age of the 1920s. We will study the fads of this time period, and focus on the culture and figures of the Harlem Renaissance. To finish the chapter, we will study the economic difficulties of the 1920s, which ultimately led to the Great Depression. The students will have their test on this chapter next Tuesday, March 30th. You may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

This week in religion, the students will be studying the fall of Israel. The people of Israel fell away from God and began worshiping idols. Unfortunately, this lesson will lead to a study of the kings of Israel, who caused this downfall. The memory verse for this week is 1 Peter 2:21. The quiz is on Friday.
