Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Even for those of us who are not Irish, this is a wonderful day to celebrate, as Patrick lived a remarkable life and taught useful lessons on the nature of God. Even though Monday is a special day, we have a busy week ahead of us.

6th Religion

This week we will finish up Unit 4 by learning about Daniel interpreting an unusual message for King Belshazzar. Then we will study the book of Esther, and learn about how she saved her people, and how this led to the Jewish holiday of Purim. The test on Unit 4 is om Thursday, March 27th. There is no memory verse this week.

6th Social Studies

The test on Topic 6- Ancient Greece is on Thursday, March 20th. The students will also start on their Greek and Roman mythology projects, which they will present the following week.

7th Religion

This week we will wrap up Unit 4 by studying all the names given to Jesus in the bible, and then our identity in Christ. The test on Unit 4 will be on Wednesday, March 26th. There is no memory verse this week.

7th Social Studies

In social studies this week, we will wrap up Topic 6 by exploring the concept of Manifest Destiny. Then, the students will begin review for the test, which will be on Monday, March 24th.

8th Religion

This week, we will wrap up Unit 4 as we study the prophecies of Isaiah and the the compassion of God through the story of Jonah. The test on Unit 4 is on Thursday, March 27th. There is no memory verse this week.

8th Social Studies

On Monday, we will study how people’s everyday lives were affected by the Great Depression. Then, the students will review for their test on Topic 13- Prosperity and Depression (1920s-1930s). The test will be on Monday, March 24th.
