Greetings to one and all! Here are the updates for this week.
6th Religion
This week we will be reviewing the Holy Communion unit. The test will be on Friday, March 15th. This is a very exciting test for our Trinity Lutheran Church students, as this will lead to their first communion on Maundy (Holy) Thursday, on March 28th. This is an especially meaningful day because Maundy Thursday is the day we remember Jesus celebrating the Last Supper with His disciples, and instituting communion for all believers.
6th Social Studies
In social studies, we will continue to learn about Ancient Greece. We will study how Sparta was very different from Athens, and then we will look at how the city-states started to trade with one another and eventually got so competitive that they went to war.
7th Religion
The students will have their test on unit 3 on Tuesday, March 12th. Then, the next unit we study will be all about the work of Jesus. We will start out by looking at why He had to be both True God and True Man.
7th Social Studies
In social studies, we will wrap up the War of 1812 and then study the Presidency of James Monroe. Then, we will begin reviewing for the test on Topic 5, which will be on Tuesday, March 19th.
8th Religion
After several weeks on hiatus due to the NYIT study and project presentations, we are back to our regular schedule! We will be studying the first kings of Israel, Saul and David. The memory verse for this week is 1 Samuel 16:7.
8th Social Studies
On Monday, we will wrap up topic 13 as we finish looking at life and culture during the Great Depression. The test on Topic 13 will be Friday, March 15th. We will begin reviewing on Tuesday.
