Welcome back to a new week at Trinity! This week many of the classes will be working on projects or taking tests, so please see the details below.

6th Religion

This week we will focus on the life and ministry of Elijah the prophet. We will see how God took care of him at his lowest moments, the amazing miracles he performed, and the power of the Word of God he shared with the people of Israel. There is no memory quiz this week.

6th Social Studies

The students will have their test on Topic 5: Ancient China on Wednesday, February 7th. Then, on Thursday, the students will try writing in Chinese calligraphy. On Friday, we will begin our unit of African Kings by studying Mansa Musa. Next week, the students will be researching important kings and queens of Ancient Africa, including the real life inspiration for The Lion King.

7th Religion

The students have been researching the different types of angel in the Bible, and they will present those projects on Tuesday. The next lesson is a bit dark, but it is all about who the devil is and how God uses His Word and His angels to protect us from the devil. There is no memory verse this week.

7th Social Studies

On Monday, the students will take their test on Topic 4: A Constitution for  the United States. Then, they will begin researching African American government officials who were the first to serve in their position. They will present their research to the class on Monday, February 12th.

8th Religion

The students should be working on their Trimester 2 Project: Calling All Workers. The projects are due on Tuesday, February 13th.

8th Social Studies

On Monday, we will wrap up Topic 12 with looking at President Wilson’s peace plan at the end of World War I. Then, we will review for their test on Friday, February 9th. Next week, the students will be researching prominent African American military officers,
