Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! I hope everyone had a blessed Easter and restful break. We are geared up to get back into full swing this week. Here are the updates.

6th Religion

Prior to the break, we finished Unit 3, so we will begin Unit 4 with a lesson on Elisha. Then, we will get in to a series of lessons on the kings of Israel and Judah. The memory verse for this week is Revelation 2:10b. The students should study from the passage on the Google Classroom. The quiz is on Thursday.

6th Social Studies

This week we will begin our unit on Ancient Rome. We will study the geography of Rome and Italy, and then we will study the Roman Republic.

7th Social Studies

In seventh grade social studies, we will begin the week by reviewing chapter 8, which covered the presidencies of George Washington and John Adams. On Wednesday, the students will take an open notes test. Next, we will get in to the presidency of Thomas Jefferson, and the Lewis and Clark expedition.

8th Religion

This week we will be studying King Manasseh and King Josiah, which emphasize the importance of repentance. The memory verse this week is 1 Chronicles 16:25-26. The quiz is on Friday.

8th Social Studies

On Monday, we will attend Trinity’s annual visit to the Nassau County Holocaust Museum and Memorial. While this year’s visit is virtual, it is still sure to be a profound and moving experience. This ties together what the students have studied in ELA, with what we will be studying in social studies. For the rest of the week, the students will be working on their Heroes of the 1920s project, They will present their projects on Friday.
