Hello, everyone! While this is a short week, there are still many events and tasks to accomplish. I am looking forward to meeting with many of you at conferences on Tuesday.

8th Social Studies

This week we are looking at the growth of the cattle industry and the life of a cow hand in the Old West. This is an especially interesting topic because this was one profession that was historically multicultural and integrated. This is also a profession that is becoming more and more uncommon in the United States. The students will finish up the chapter next week by studying the life of the early homesteaders and farmers. There will be a chapter test before Thanksgiving.

7th Social Studies

This week the class will continue studying the first 13 English Colonies. The students are making quick reference guides to use while studying this information. They will continue with studying the Middle Colonies this week, and the Southern colonies next week. There will also be a test before Thanksgiving. More details will follow next week.

8th Pre-Algebra

The students will be wrapping up Module 3 this week with a quiz on Monday. In Module 4, they will build on the skills they have learned and will more into graphing non-proportional relationships and using the linear equation.

8th Religion

This week the students will be studying how God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness after they were freed from slavery, which is found in the middle chapters of the book of Exodus. As this is a short week, there will not be a memory verse.
