Happy Monday, everyone! First of all, it was a pleasure to meet all of you at Back to School Night last week. It was wonderful to have such a high level of attendance.

8th Social Studies

This week the students are reviewing for their first test, which will be on Friday, October 2nd. The Chapter 15 study guide is being handed out today, and you may also view it here.

7th Social Studies

First of all, I am so pleased with the class’s overall performance on their Chapter 1 test. Job well done! This week the students are beginning Chapter, which will cover the European exploration of North and South America. We will begin by discussing the growing controversy of Columbus Day, and its validity as a holiday. We will surely have a lively discussion!

8th Pre-Algebra

This week the students will continue working on scientific notation. They will focus on changing number less than one into scientific notation. For example, 0.00234 will become 2.34*10^-3, or 2.34 times 10 to the negative 3rd power.

8th Religion

The students will continue to go through the life of Abraham, and then the life of his son Isaac. The memory verse for this week will be familiar to many: Jeremiah 29:11. This is found on page 21 in the student book, or here.
