Hell, everyone, and welcome back for a new week! It’s Spirit Week here at Trinity, and all the middle schoolers are very excited for all of the festivities. Nonetheless, we still have a full week of academic work ahead.

8th Social Studies

On Tuesday, the students will take their test on Chapter 16: Reconstruction. THe study guide may be viewed here. They will of course play Jeopardy on Monday to help review and possibly earn a few bonus points. On Wednesday, will begin a new unit of study looking at how industrialization transformed the United States. We will begin first with the transformation of the West. The study will learn the truth behind all of the myths and stereotypes of the “Wild West.”

7th Social Studies

The students in seventh grade will also take a test on Tuesday. The chapter 2 study guide may be viewed here. They  too will play a round of Jeopardy on Monday, which always proves to be a fun review of the material. On Wednesday, we will begin studying the English colonization of North America and how our American culture took shape.

8th Pre-Algebra

In Pre-Algebra this week, we will continue studying proportional relationships, and the various ways to illustrate this concept. The students will be introduced to graphing equations and learning how to calculate the slope of a line. These are skills that will be used for much of the year, so mastery of this module is key.

8th Religion

In religion this week, the students will be wrapping up Unit 1 with a lesson on how the events of the Passover correlate to the Lord’s Supper. There will likely be a test on Unit 1 on Friday, and you may view the study guide here. Since the students will take a test, there will be no memory quiz.

Have a blessed week!
