Greetings! Welcome back to a new week at Trinity. I look forward to seeing all of you at Back to School night on Tuesday, September 20th. In the meantime, here is what we are working on this week.

7th Social Studies

This week we will finish our first chapter. We will wrap up by studying the many European influences on American culture and exploration- Greek and Roman government ideas, Christianity and the influence of Martin Luther and the Reformation, and early explorers. Next Tuesday, September 27th, the students will be tested on Chapter 1. The study guide may be viewed here.

8th Social Studies

In eighth grade, we too are wrapping up our first unit of study. We will be studying the decisive battles of the Civil War and how the Civil War impacted life in the United States. Eighth grade will likely take their test on Chapter 15 next Tuesday, September 27th. The study guide may be viewed here.

8th Religion

On Friday last week, we had a lively discussion about the tower of Babel and the difference between being prideful and boastful, and being humble and living for the glory of God. We will continue this topic this week as we discuss how we can be living “temples of God.” The next topic we will study is trusting in God’s will and plans for our lives. We will study the life of Abraham as our example. The memory verse for this week can be found on the schedule in the Google classroom. This week the verse is 2 Corinthians 10:17-18, which can be found on page 13 of the student book.
