Before I go into the updates for each class, I would like to thank all of you who attended Back-to-School Night. It was a pleasure meeting all of you, and I look forward to working with each of you this year.
8th Social Studies
This week we will be examining the hardships that were faced by both soldiers and civilians during the Civil War. We will then wrap up our study with looking at the decisive battles that delivered a Union victory. These lessons will be based on p. 238-243 in the workbooks.
7th Social Studies
7A will be taking their first chapter test tomorrow and 7AA will have their test on Wednesday. Both classes will then begin studying the early European explorers and their impact on American history.
8AA Religion
8AA will continue their study of Genesis. This week we will be reading about God’s promise to Abram(Abraham) from Genesis 17-18; then we will look at Abraham’s prayers for Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 18:22-33). This lesson will also break down the Lord’s Prayer and we will discuss its petitions.
The memory verse for this week is Ephesians 3:14-17a. The exact text may be found on p. 17 in the student book.
