I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As we enter into the season of Advent and Christmas, let us not forget the sentiment of the photo above.

Here are the plans for this week.

7th Social Studies

This week the seventh grade will be studying what life was like in the 13 English Colonies. We will start with how the colonies were governed and then we will study how the different social classes of the colonies lived. In addition to the usual notes and homework, the students will be studying primary sources relating to colonial life.

8th Social Studies

The eighth grade will be studying two topics that are just as relevant today as they were in the early 20th century: immigration and educational reform. The students will learn about what brought/still brings immigrants to the U.S. and the process of assimilation to a new country. The students will also learn about why educational reform was necessary in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The chapter 18 test will likely be on Wednesday, December 7th. More details will follow later this week.

8th Religion

This week the students will learn about the last days of Moses and how the Israelites moved forward without his leadership. On Monday, the students will receive the outline for the second quarter project, You may view the document here. The memory verse for this week is 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13.
