Hello Parents! Welcome to May! This is my favorite month as we begin to see more flowers blooming and butterflies and ladybugs out and about. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.
We will continue to review the alphabet, numbers, ten frames and our sight words. As we review the ABC’s we will focus more on their sounds. The sight words for this week are “funny” and “find”. Continuing with last month’s theme, Nature All Around Us, this week’s topic is “The Seasons” with the big idea being that the seasons change. The vocabulary words we will learn this week are: fall, spring, summer, winter, and season. We will read the books “What Makes the Seasons.” For math we will review patterns.
This week we will talk about Cinco de Mayo and we will continue to make some exciting crafts for Mother’s Day. Our Scholastic Weekly Reader, titled “Hello Little Ladybug” goes perfectly with the ladybug suncatchers we are making to decorate our windows. For Jesus time, we will learn that Jesus knows our name.
