Hello Parents, happy February! I hope everyone is doing well and is excited for the snow. Please remember to complete the daily attestations each morning prior to coming to school.

This week we will continue our letters and numbers. We will be learning the letter Ss and the number 19. We are starting a new theme for the month of February – Imagine it, Make it. Our first unit will focus on “Using My Imagination.” The big idea is that I can imagine all kinds of things. The vocabulary words we will learn this week are: create, imagination, pretend and visualize. We will be reading the books “Not a Box,” “The Shape of Things,” and “Ten Black Dots.”  The math concepts for this week are numerals and quantity.

We will start talking about shadows this week and our Scholastic Weekly Reader, titled “Let’s Find Out,” will explore what shadows are. We will talk about Groundhog Day, make our own predictions, and make our own shadows in the classroom. For Jesus time we will continue talking about Jesus and the 12 Disciples and move onto Jesus blesses the Children.
