I Count My Blessings

I count my blessings one by one.

It’s what I ought to do.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day,

I know I have a few….

I find a pen, some paper too

and start with number one.

I think of family, friends, and health,

my list has just begun.

My home,

the warmth of a cozy bed,

my memories and all life’s fun..

I add the air, the trees, our Earth, all beauty under the sun….

Forgive me though, for as I pause,

I think about my list…

and wonder who

should be thanked first

and certainly not missed.

So at the top

I write one word

and now it is complete.

My list of blessings start with God, who’s made my life so sweet.

•Parent Teacher Conferences were held Friday. It was a pleasure meeting with each and every one of you!  I enjoyed our conversations immensely and thank you for your continued support.

•This Wednesday we will gather together in the gym and have a “Thanksgiving Feast.” We will enjoy a lunch together as a school, and count our many blessings. Thank you to our class moms for organizing dessert and drinks and to all who make it possible in helping make our feast a memorable event!

•I know some parents are considering coming in to be a Mystery Reader…. I strongly encourage you to do so! We can arrange a day convenient for you, morning or afternoon! Please share some time with us for it is a lot of fun for the children. I guarantee that you will have fun too!

•STEAM Lab : We built a “prototype” of a bird feeder which was first drawn and designed in order to attract a specific type of bird. Conclusively, we learned many lessons along the way! The children discovered that is is not easy to problem solve and create with the materials they had to work with. They learned it took a lot of thinking, time, and trial and error to be “successful” and reach their goal. They each had a partner to collaborate with and tap into one another’s creativity. The class truly enjoyed this hands-on activity and were all very engaged throughout the process!
