Important Notes:
Tests: Please sign and return test slips when sent home. It is strongly encouraged that you review the tests. Test errors will always be reviewed with your child in school; in most cases, the children are able to make their corrections independently.
Homework: If your child has difficulty completing homework on any given night, please let me know with a quick note or email. This will help me focus my attention on particular concepts that need further review well before it is time for assessment. If homework cannot be completed on any given night due to other reasons, please let me know. Incomplete/missing homework is expected to be made up. Thank you!
A shoe tying competition has taken place in the second grade! We congratulated and awarded those who were successful and encourage those still learning to continue practicing tying at home. Eventually, I believe every second grader will be successful and receive recognition! Laces are often untied throughout the school day and it has become a safety issue. Let’s support the children towards independence and learning to tie! Thank you!
Second Graders are looking for Mystery Readers for the months ahead! Would you like to visit our classroom and read a book to us? We’d love to have you come and visit! Please consider and email me so we can arrange a day and time!
Parents are always welcome to join us for chapel on Wednesdays. Please join us in the church at 8:30.
Trinity Pre-K and grades K-3 enjoyed Author David Ira Rottenberg who visited this past week and read his story, Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig, a story that is about pursuing what you love. The story was acted out on stage and was a lot of fun to watch!
Second grade visited the STEAM Lab this week in order to catch a leprechaun! Children were challenged to create a trap and learned that designing and creating one out of STEAM materials including marshmallows, toothpicks, cardboard, (and many other materials available to us) was difficult but we are learning about perseverance and adapting a never-give-up attitude! Many clever ideas were generated and the process of creating their traps was just as important as their final project.
Please note there will be no school this Friday, March 22nd due to a Professional Development Day. School will be closed the following week from Wednesday, March 28th- April 5th for Easter Recess. School resumes on Monday, April 8th.
God bless your Easter!
Have a beautiful week ahead.
