We will have a full, busy week in second grade! We’ve already had three full weeks of school and second grade is in full swing here at Trinity!
This is the Day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Reading– Our anchor text is “My Family”
As second grade readers, we are striving to read with fluency– no more robot reading! We can do this by doing repeated readings, listening to fluent readers, practicing our high frequency words (sight words) or trying echo reading. Good readers think about the meanings of the words they read and how those meaning are connected. This week the Journeys student books will be sent home each night in order for students to read the week’s story as part of their homework. Please enjoy shared reading time with your student each day! The more they read, the words will flow, and then their fluency will grow and grow!
Our high frequency (sight words) for the week include: bring, children, comes, do, family, like, make, those, use, with
Our spelling words are: wet, job, hug, rest, spot, mud, left, help, plum, nut, net, hot, get, not
The vocabulary words connected to the story include: remembered, porch, crown, spend, stuck, visit, cousin, piano
