Joke of the week: What did the clean dog say to the insect?
Language Arts- This week we will complete our last lesson in our Unit 2 Wonders series. Our essential question is: What kind of bugs do you know about? We will be opening our lessons by blending sounds together /c/ /at/ = cat. We will read “I Love Bugs!”. Our vocabulary words are: curious and observe. We will review the letter and sound of Ww, Xx, Yy and Zz and our new sight word will be “at” and “to”. In grammar, we will continue learning about Verbs (action words) and recognize the difference between verbs and nouns.
Math- This week we will begin Module 5- Add To and Take From Within 5.
Quick Math– We will do math centers this week as well. Those will take place on Tuesday and Thursday. We call it “Quick Math” because it is a quick review of what we have been learning throughout the week. We will reinforce adding!
Jesus Time- We will continue to enjoy Ms. Leahy’s children’s Bible and watch videos to retell us the story we read!
Science/Social Studies: We will discuss Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. We will talk about who Veterans are as well as the things we are thankful for and make a thankful craft. We will also do a Scholastic on Election Day and learn about the process of voting for a new president!

We will be going on a field trip to the Hicksville Firehouse on Friday 11/8. There is no cost and we will be walking from our school. Please return the permission slip by Wednesday 11/6!
We have no school on Monday 11/11 in observance of Veterans Day and Parent-Teacher Conferences are Friday 11/15 in person from 8:30am – 6:30pm! Have a wonderful week!
