I hope everyone had a great weekend! The children are adjusting very well, getting acquainted with classroom, their classmates, and their supplies!

Joke of the Week: Why are fish so smart?

Song of the Week- Each week we will have a Christian song that we listen to to start our day! This weeks song is “I’m So Blessed” by CAIN.

Language Arts- We are continuing to review the letters of the alphabet. This week we are working on letters E-G. To learn and review the letters we are identifying them, writing, singing, and watching videos; all of these things will help us reinforce what we are learning! Each day we open with identifying letters, their sounds, rhyming words and syllables.

Our second sight word we are learning is “can”. We will learn how to say it, spell it, and most importantly identify it throughout sentences, stories, and sentences we make. We will also reinforce I and go from last week.

We will continue to discuss the concepts of print, how to identify the front and back cover of a book, as well as words in a sentence. We will listen to Mrs. Leahy and determine how many words are in a sentence. We will also identify the difference between numbers and letters.

We will be taking our beginning of the year language arts benchmark. This is not something the children study for, rather it is to see what they already know and how to approach this years language arts curriculum!

Math- We have been counting our days of school thus far. This week we will begin our math curriculum called “Into Math”. We will work on numbers 1-5. We are identifying them, counting, writing, and representing the numbers by holding up said number of fingers or crayons. We will play number bingo as another fun way to identify our numbers!

We will be completing our beginning of the year math benchmark. This is not something the children study for, rather it is to see what they already know and how to approach this years math curriculum!

Jesus Time- We are diving into Ms. Vollono’s children’s Bible and reading such fun stories, completing crafts, activities, and watching videos to enjoy the stories! This week we will continue talking about God’s Creation story and watch videos to see the story in a new way.

Science/Emotions- This week we will log onto Mystery Science and learn about gravity. The lesson is called “Can you play football on the moon”?

Back to School Night is this Tuesday, September 17th at 7pm. Hope to see you there!

Excited for another great week!
