Joke of the week: Why did the lumberjack break his tools?
Language Arts- This week we will finish Unit 1 of our Wonder’s series. We will be opening our lessons by listening and identifying beginning sounds, counting words in a sentence, reviewing the sight words we have learned (I, can, it, go, the, we) and learn one new one, “see”. We will continue discussing syllables and rhyming. We focus on letter N-P identify them and the sounds the letters make. We will also be focusing on the beginning sounds in words. We will continue to learn about nouns, we have learned nouns for people and now we will learn about nouns pertaining to places.
Our essential question is: How can your senses help you learn? We will read the story Sense at the Seashore! and “A Feast of the Senses”. As we read our stories this week we will focus on characters, setting, and what senses are being used and how they help us in our every day lives.
Math- This week we will continue Lesson 3- Matching and Counting Numbers to 5.
Jesus Time- This week we will continue to enjoy Mrs. Leahy’s children’s Bible learning about Joseph and his family in Egypt, the plagues and the Israelites. We will read stories and watch videos to connect what we read!
Science: We will discuss our 5 senses and how those are used during the season of fall.
