Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class/Ms. Pascarella’s notes!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:
* Spelling– The words for this week are: ship, stop, go, bus, fast, map. There will be no new vocab words this week, but we will be reviewing: look, this, one, what. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night. There will be a Spelling test on Friday.
* Phonics– We will focus on the /r/, /p/, /qu/ sounds
*Language Arts– Question Words
* Reading: We will read the story “Ships” on Tuesday. The children will bring home their Reading book that night to read the story again at home. The take home story this week is “A Path to the Ship”. The children should be able to read this story to you. There will be a Reading/Unit test (Book 1) on Friday.
* Math– Lessons 10-14: Addition Word Problems
* Religion– Read and discuss the story “Manna in Wilderness”
* Science– Chapter 2 – Forest and Habitat
* Social Studies– Test on Tuesday 10/8. Book 1: Families, Customs/Celebrations, Neighbors, and Culture. Please review book at home!
* Weekly Reader– It is Fire Prevention week! Our weekly reader will be: Fire Prevention

Encourage your child to READ every night to strengthen their skills.
Remember to send in your child’s pizza money by Thursday.
