Hello all! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:

Spelling– The words for this week are: but, tug, duck, rug, cut, buck.  The challenge words are: no, out, ride, small.  The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night.  There will be a Spelling test on Friday.

Phonics– Review of spelling, rhyming and short /a/ sound.

Language Arts– Writing, Unit Review. There will be a test next Tuesday 10/29

Reading: We will read the story “One Good Pup” on Tuesday.  The children will bring home their Reading book that night to read the story again at home.  The take home story this week is “Fun in the Sun”.  The children should be able to read this story to you. There will be a Reading test on Friday.

Math– Counting on from larger numbers. To ensure your children are fully understanding the math, this week they will be having a short quiz to practice for the mid-module exam.

**I just want to inform you that we are working our best to meet the needs for each of your children in regards to Common Core. We have been working very hard and the students are doing great! As for homework, it may seem difficult due to new vocabulary, but the students are becoming more familiar with it and we complete some homework problems together before sending it home. I hope this is helpful! Thank you for your patience.

Religion– Read and discuss “The Tent Church”

Science– Lesson 4 – Desert

Social Studies– Lesson 2 – People Change Land

Weekly Reader– “Bats”

“Your children are the greatest gift God will give to you, and their souls the heaviest responsibility He will place in your hands. Take time with them, teach them to have faith in God. Be a person in whom they can have faith. When you are old, nothing else you’ve done will have mattered as much.”
