Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling-There will be a test on lesson 7 words this Thursday. The words for the next lesson (which we will give them on Friday) are: on, got, fox, pop, not, hop. The new vocabulary (“R” book) words will be: her, she, now, today, our, would. The children will write all 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by next Wednesday 11/19. There will be a Spelling test on those words (lesson 8) next Friday (11/21). We will soon be writing sentences for our spelling words, now that the second quarter has begun. I will start out slowly!
Phonics- /o/, blends, -ock words
Language Arts- statements
Reading: We will have a test on lesson 7, “How Animals Communicate” on Thursday of this week. We will then begin lesson 8 on Friday. We will read the story “A Musical Day”. The tests for lesson 8 will be given on Friday,11/21 (the children have no school on 11/20). I know it has been confusing since we have had so many days off in November and the tests are on a different day each week, but we will be back to Friday testing starting 11/21. There will be no new reading lesson or spelling words for the short week of Thanksgiving.
Math- test on chapter 4 (subtraction) on Wednesday
Religion- Daily devotions and bible stories
Science- Habitats
Social Studies- How people change land
Weekly Reader- Veterans Day

We are in the second quarter of the school year! This is one of the busiest times of the year!
Remember to return the “KidStuff” book or payment for it this week. There are lots of great coupons in this book!
Please remember to sign up online for a parent/teacher conference to be held next Thursday (11/20). The children have no school that day.
School is closed this Tuesday in observance of Veteran’s Day.
