Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

Spelling- The new words for this week are: chin, chop, much, chip, rich, chick. The vocabulary (“R” book) words are: been, brown, know, never, off, out, own, very. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday. They should write 3 sentences by Wednesday. Spelling Test will be on Friday on all the words.

Phonics- -ch, -tch words

Language Arts- commands

Reading: We will read the story How the Leopard got it’s Spots this week. The children will read it again at home before the test. Your child should be able to read the decodable readers that are sent home each week on their own. They have many words with the –ch and –tch sounds this week. There will be a Reading test on Friday.

Math- Chapter 6 test next Tuesday; practice test this week
Chapter 6 is a short chapter on comparing numbers.

Science- Test Thursday on Chapter 3; Review sheets were sent home last week.

Social Studies- Life Long Ago

Religion- Baptism of Jesus

Weekly Reader- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our Star of the Week is Nicholas!

Please check with your child to see if he/she needs any supplies (especially pencils, erasers, and stick glue). Many children need erasers!

Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday!

If school is ever closed this winter due to snow, you will get a robo call from Trinity. The system was recently tested! There will also be a message on our school number (931-2211) and an announcement on News 12.

No school on Monday the 19th for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Enjoy the long weekend!
