Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes
Spelling- The last spelling test is this Wednesday. The words are from lesson 28. The words written 3x each were due last Friday and the sentences are due by this Tuesday. Many children have not yet brought back their completed “S” books.
Reading: There are tests on Lesson 28 this Wednesday. The children should know the long i sound spelled –igh, -y, and –ie, and also –ing, –ed, –er, -est, -es endings. They will also have to read a selection and answer questions about it.
Math- We are almost finished with the lessons in our books “Getting ready for second grade”, and there will be a test next Monday to see if the children grasped the concepts (a review of time to the hour and half hour, reading graphs, shapes, equal parts).
Science- We will be reading some lessons in our Science books, but there will not be any more tests. I will be grading class work to help those who might need to pull up their Science grade.
Social Studies- Symbols of our country
Test on Unit 5 Thursday- book was sent home to study
Weekly Reader- Animals of Summer
