Welcome to my school notes!
Spelling- The new words for this week are: me, be, read, feet, tree, keep, eat, mean, seat, these. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework Monday night. They should write 6 sentences by Wednesday. We have informed the children that they can only start 2 of their spelling sentences with the word “I”! Spelling Test will be on Friday.
Phonics- long e, ng, nk
Language Arts- compound sentences; narrative writing
Reading: We will read the story The Big Trip. The children will read it again at home. The “R” book words are: about, could, sure, by, don’t, there, car, maybe. There will be Reading tests on Friday.
Math- test Tuesday on chapter 9; practice test Monday
Science- food chains
Weekly Reader- service dogs

Our Reader of the week is ASHEL!
The first grade classes will be singing at our 10:30 church service on Sunday, 3/15. Mr. DeVries sent home a note with information. The children should arrive by 10:15 wearing their school uniforms.
Please send in $2 so we can make the first grade basket for the Applebees fundraiser. The pancake breakfast sounds like lots of fun!
Pizza envelopes should be handed in by Thursday.
