Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!

 

Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!

 

Spelling– The new words for this week are: bird, burn, girl, serve, hurt, first, brother, mother, sister, from. The children will write their 10 spelling words 3x each for homework by Tuesday. They should write 10 sentences due by Wednesday. Spelling Test will be on Friday.

 

Phonics– test Friday on consonant blends and “Y” as a vowel

 

Language Arts– antonyms; writing

 

Reading: We will read the story, The Story of a Bluebird on Tuesday. The children will read the story again at home on Tuesday night. The take home story this week is “Pam’s Surprise”. There will be a Reading test on Friday.

 

Math– Assessment on shapes, halves and quarters, time to the hour and half hour

 

Science- The Night Sky-chapter 11 test next Wednesday (5/14) – study sheets will be sent home this week.

 

Social Studies-Our Leaders

 

Weekly Reader– Sunflowers

 

1AA News

 

Dates to remember:

 

Spring Musical- May 20th at 7p.m. Mr. Devries sent a note home last week stating that the first graders should wear yellow shirts.

 

May 28th- K-3 Field Day

 

June 3rd- class trip to Planetarium- children should bring a lunch so we can picnic there, weather permitting

 

June 13th– K-5 Picnic at Cantiague Park- send in your t-shirt order form with $5 and shirt size by this Friday. We need to order the shirts.
