I hope you all enjoyed the long holiday weekend!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week:
Spelling- There is a spelling test on last week’s words this Thursday. This is the last list of words (from our Reading series) for this year! We will be doing work with Dolch sight words for the next 3 weeks.
Phonics- digraphs; blending
Language Arts– review unit 4 for test next week
Reading: There will be a Reading test on the short article “On the Go” this Thursday. This is the final story in our Reading series. I will be giving an End of Book test on Friday.
Math– adding 2 digit numbers
Social Studies– symbols of our country; last Social Studies test next Wednesday (6/4) on book 5
The book will be sent home this week.
Science– Chapter 8- Matter
Class News
The children did a wonderful job in the Spring Show last week!! It was great to see so many of the parents there!
As the school year is winding down, we will be having tests in most subjects. I will give at least a week’s notice before each test. We will do a lot of reviewing in class.
Wednesday 5/28- Field Day- rain or shine
Wear red, white and blue!
Friday 5/30- June lunch menus due
Tuesday 6/3: Class trip to the Planetarium. Please send a bagged lunch to school (with drinks and snacks) as we will be eating lunch there, weather permitting.
Monday 6/13: Picnic at Cantiague Park-meet at the park at 10 am. Wear class T-shirts that will be distributed before the picnic.
